God, What do I do?

Sunday School Teacher, do you ever feel in a powerless situation, a situation that you have absolutely no control over, you feel trapped. What do you do? Do you teach? Should you be transparent and real or just put on the mask that Sunday?

The situation has led to frustration and discouragement. You are feeling bitter, anger, and even Hatred. Your heart is breaking… Yet, The Bible says, Love Your Enemies. That All things work out for good to them that love the Lord. To Control your tongue. Do nothing to keep a little one from stumbling.

You want to be Christlike and upbeat and encouraging. But your heart is breaking. What do you do? Do you teach? That’s my question this early, sleepless Sunday morning…do I teach? Sunday School begins in five hours. Do I share with my class? Am I real or do I put on the mask?

God, What do I do?

WOW! GO GOD!!! : Give God the Glory

WOW! GO GOD!!! Tina gives all the glory to God. “I praise the Mighty Name of our Savior Jesus for a message to share! I praise God for the opportunity to be His vessel as unworthy as I am, yet able because I was bought with the priceless precious blood of the Lamb!”Another step to shout with Tina, WOW! GO GOD!!! is to give Him the glory. The words to To God be the Glory come to mind:

To God be the glory, great things he hath done!
So loved he the world that he gave us his Son,
who yielded his life an atonement for sin,
and opened the lifegate that all may go in.

Refrain:
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
let the earth hear his voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father thru Jesus the Son,
and give him the glory, great things he hath done!

O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
to every believer the promise of God;
the vilest offender who truly believes,
that moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

Great things he hath taught us, great things he hath done,
and great our rejoicing thru Jesus the Son;
but purer, and higher, and greater will be
our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.

God can do amazing things through one committed leader. Remember Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Paul, and Tina. Thanks Tina for allowing God to use you and for sharing your story.

WOW! GO GOD!!! : Seek Help

WOW! GO GOD!!! In Tina’s original e-mail, she began by saying, “You probably don't have a clue who I am, but I contacted you in the summer about a brand new Sunday School class that our church had started.” One of the privileges and joys of serving as a State Missionary is working with pastors, Sunday School Directors and teachers. The third step in joining Tina in shouting, WOW! GO GOD!!!, is to Seek help and direction.

I was not discouraged, but wanted some more ammunition in my arsenal. Our attendance had steadily increased to 9 by late July! My dear friend, Kathy Trundle, referred me to you. After talking with you on the phone, I put the Sunday School University training date on my calendar! I attended the class in Lebanon. It was awesome what God showed me through that! He gave me a vision of how to organize and mobilize this class to become His hands and feet! He expects more than just Sunday-go-to-meeting Christians! Set high standards according to His Word and leadership and watch what He does!

Sunday School University returns this year in 24 locations across Tennessee. Participants can choose two sixty minute conferences. The conference will begin at 6:30, but will still conclude at 9:00. Sunday School University is tuition free. Your tuition is paid by the gifts to the Cooperative Program and to your association. Visit to the TBC web site at www.equippingu.org.
