My father is passionate about Sunday School and he passed that passion on to his son. For thirty-five years, he served his church in Lexington as the Sunday School Director. Dad will tell you that training made a difference in his ministry.
In the summer after graduating from high school, I witnessed my father and our new pastor, Dr. Hoyt Wilson, return from Sunday School Week at Ridgecrest Baptist Conference Center. During the next four years, I witnessed the First Baptist Church of Lexington experience great growth. Why? Because they focused on growing the church through Sunday School.
Dad and Dr. Wilson built the Sunday School on the timeless principles of Sunday School. Dad learned these principles by reading and attending associational, state, and national training events.
Training still impacts the lives of Sunday School leaders. This year’s Equipping U event Sunday School University is a place where you can bring your teachers and leaders to learn the principles and methods for leading a strong Sunday school.
